The Life Ethics Information Centre (LEIC) was incorporated as an Ontario Non-Share Capital Corporation (Ontario Corporate Registration No. 1006750) on 16 February 1993, with the purpose of promoting the application of moral and ethical principles to modern society in the areas of economics, the arts, politics, education, and religion.
Since that time, one of the primary activities of LEIC has been publication of the Catholic Insight magazine. The magazine was originally pubished in print, but moved to an entirely electronic on-line form by about 2015.
Both the Centre and the magazine were founded by Father Alphonse DeValk, CSB. Father DeValk served as both the business and inspirational leader of LEIC until his passing in April, 2020.
While proudly continuing and bringing to new heights the mission and accomplishments of Catholic Insight magazine, LEIC continuously seeks new ways to promote the application of moral and ethical principles to all aspects of society. We seek to maintain the vision of Father DeValk.
We seek a better world, and aspire to help build it.
Catholic Insight seeks to enlighten hearts and minds by proclaiming the splendour of truth and the sanctity of life. It endeavours to foster the culture of life by reporting truthfully, critically, contextually, and comparatively with a view to history and guided by a cultural vision inspired by Catholic doctrine and the classical liberal arts. In a climate of moral and cultural relativism it unequivocally upholds the existence of moral absolutes as a source of hope.
The magazine is available online and is free at CatholicInsight.com
